Where Our First and Second Amendments Intersect

"Where Our First and Second Amendment Rights Intersect"

Andy Waits

Andy Waits was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, and moved to Texas as an 11 year old boy. He now considers himself a dual citizen of those two great republics... California and Texas.
As a teen in Texas, he spent lazy days at the Red River with a gun in his hand... shooting at snakes, sticks, and supposed adversaries. He's proud of the fact that he was never once overtaken by one of those imaginary bad guys.

Andy began his broadcast career in the dusty West Texas towns of Odessa and Midland, and has since criss-crossed America several times in pursuit of an audience. He eventually landed in Los Angeles where his radio show was broadcast to millions on stations coast-to-coast for over a decade on the Westwood One Radio Network. He also worked in the newsroom of KABC-TV, was a reporter and weatherman for Time-Warner of Southern California, and anchored a daily morning TV news/talk show.

Andy has interviewed a collection of Congressmen, Senators, Governors, and the guy who wrote "The Art and Science of Dumpster Diving." He has swapped jokes with Bill Cosby, has compared tans with Kenny Chesney, and has gotten Tom Clancy to tell him the best place on earth to get a beer. Andy's easy-going personality, sense of humor, and command of the facts put his guests at ease.

Andy and his lovely wife Ruth are coming up on their 25th Anniversary. They are the parents of three teenagers. Hence the graying hair. He loves photography, hiking, graphic design, and is a voracious reader.

Brandy Vega

Brandy Vega is a lean, mean, fighting machine. Brandy graduated early from West Jordan High School in Utah and traded in her senior trip for the delights of boot camp and the Army Reserve where she enlisted as a broadcast journalist and public affairs specialist in 1995. She proudly served her country for eight years. During that time Brandy was fortunate enough to interview several national and international leaders, including: President Bush, the First Lady, Colin Powell, and Donald Rumsfeld. She received a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Public Affairs from the Defense Information School in Maryland and also studied at the University of Utah. She became the youngest TV reporter when she landed her first on-air reporter position with a Fox News affiliate at the age of 20. She is also an excellent video shooter, producer and editor.

Brandy is an ambitious woman who has worked very hard to get where she is today. She has worked in virtually every position in broadcasting and has a clear understanding and appreciation of what it takes to bring an idea to fruition. Her time spent as non-commissioned officer in charge commanding individuals in her army unit taught her great leadership skills and an appreciation for weapons, especially after a unit she was with got ambushed by guerillas in Kosovo. She was also nearly shot down twice while deployed to the Balkans! In addition to television Brandy is also a video spokesperson and actor. She has appeared in movies, documentaries, infomercials, commercials, web-casts and in print advertising. She absolutely loves what she does and it shows. Her upbeat personality is contagious and people enjoy working and being around her.

Brandy is married with two beautiful little girls. She loves spending time with her family and being involved with her community and church. Her pastimes include fishing, riding ATVs, basketball, and anything else that provides a challenge and competition.
